100 word challenge/ kidnapped

As the door slammed I knew this was going to be my last day as a 7 year old, in fact it is probably going to be the last day of my life. But you are probably wondering what happened to me so this is my life.

My life started when I was born, as I grew I learnt  more abilities and the more abilities I learnt the more things I could do. When I was three I started to take things from my mum. So over the years I became a thief and in return I get to die.

Australia

It was a warm sunny day in Australia, nothing could go wrong. We were about to leave to go to the pool. “Have we got everything,” I ask. There is no reply, I shut the door.

“ I think I left my towel inside,”Natalie says as we were walking down the stairs, she sprints back up.
A few minutes later she comes back.
“ Where is your towel, ” Mum asks with a surprised face.
“The door wouldn't open,” she replied.
“We left the card inside!” I scream.

So the pools had to wait and  a long walk though a palm tree forest would have to do. When we finally got to reception they gave us a spare card to use.

Then we head to the pools. While mum gets Natalie’s towel of course. After a long swim we go to get some pizza for dinner After our long adventure through the dark forest.

I woke up, looked at the clock and jumped out of bed not knowing where the day would take me.

Chelsea's speech

Topic - Why is the sky blue? - and that is that

The sky is blue and that is that. Have you ever wondered why the sky is blue? I mean why can’t it be purple, or green, or even yellow? That's why I’m here, to tell you what makes the sky blue.

An irish physicist called John Tyndall took the the first steps towards correctly explaining the colour of the sky in 1859.

Now remember, the sun is earth’s light source, and light from it travels in waves.

John said the sky is blue because blue light is scattered in all directions by the tiny molecules of the airs atmosphere. Blue is scattered more than other colours because it travels as shorter, smaller waves. This is why we see blue most of the time.

So, Why does the sky turn black at night?
As earth turns on its axis, the part of the planet you're standing on turns for a time so that you face into earth’s shadow. While we are in the earth’s shadow the light from the sun is unable to reach us and reflect off the molecules in the sky this means we can not see colours in the sky. When you face into the shadow, it’s night. When earth turns so that you face the direction of the sun it is day.

And, Why does the sky change colour at night and morning?
When we look towards the sun at sunrise or sunset, we see orange and red colours because the blue light has been scattered out.

you face into the shadow, it’s night. When earth turns so that you face the direction of the sun it is day.

Why does the sky change colour?
Scattering affects the colour of light coming from the sky, the colour we see is determined by the wavelength of the light and the size of the particle. Molecules and small particles in the atmosphere change the direction of light rays, causing them to scatter, this is called refraction.

Why do we see rainbows?
Rainbows are created as light from the sun meets a raindrop, the raindrop acts the same as a triangular prism to separate the light into different wavelengths allowing us to see all the colours in the rainbow. The beams of sunlight are separated into the colours of the rainbow as they make contact with a raindrop.

So there you have it, according to John Tyndall the sky is blue because tiny molecules in the earth’s atmosphere scatter blue light more than other colours. The sky is blue and that is that.

swing of change writting

Music echoed around the dusty room held up by wall papered wall.
Harry strolled over to sharpen his razor on his shiny black strop.

Suddenly the music fades out, Harry stomps over to the gramophone in the corner of his shop to see what was wrong. The customer took the gramophone and said I'll fix that for you, then walk out the door.A sweet sound drifts out of a polished golden trumpet. Harry walks out and snatches the trumpet of the dark skinned man."What was he doing in front of my shop" Harry said in his head. He placed the trumpet on the light wooden bench.

Slowly harry walked over to the black and white pitchers at the back of his salon. Then strolled back to the bench and washed the mouth pice then started to blow into the trumpet. When he took his mouth off, the trumpet went dancing round the room like a tree blowing in the wind.

jumping back he placed the trumpet back on the bench and hid behind his up right chair. A second later he tried playing it again but the same thing happend.

why is this happening?
He carred on playing the trumpet like he had fallen in love with it. A few minutes later he dropped the trumpet BANG! he turns over to his big mirror that covered the wall. Staring in silents he starts seeing himself as a black man. Moments later his favourite costumer was standing outside his shop with his gramophone. He takes it inside and turns it on. Then walks over the sharpen his razor and starts to shave his customer. But he has turned black and Harry has seemed to change his mind and dose not mind what colour people are.

women's voting

My women's voting presentation

Kotuku and Kotare have been doing inquiry called injustice their were many subjects to chose from. I chose women's voting. The first thing I had to do was do some research about women's voting because I did not know much about my topic. Then I had to make a google presentation with all of my information in it and share it with the two classes. The impact it had on me was that I thought it was unfair that women did not have the same rights as men did.

Make sure to check out my slide by clicking the link at the top of the page.
